PROLOGUE - The Mountain Of Whispers

The Mountain of Whispers is a terrifying place, a structure said to be sentient. It's rumored to be the oldest mountain in the land; the last remaining relic of a world and time long forgotten. Oh, what stories the stones could tell if they could talk!... Or if they were not buried under several layers of ice and snow. Instead, it is the turbulent winds that whisper the Mountain's story...

People say that while the Mountain whispers freely, it guards it's tangible secrets more jealously: It hides them in a violent blizzard. There is no break in the tumultuous storm, and no amount of iron transportation or specialized blowtorches can beat a path through it. Only the honest seeker of knowledge, who bravely enters the Mountain on foot, is said to ever find anything. Some have made discoveries of strange artifacts, others have found the ruined buildings of a curious civilization, but even in those rare instances when something tangible is found, those seekers can never find the place again once they leave it.

Many say The Mountain will lead you where it wants you to go, if it wants you there at all..

The Mountain of Whispers is thus named because of the many voices that whisper over each other on the wind, or perhaps from the cracks in the ice. Quiet voices from all around. Each is so eager to share what they have to say that it's hard to understand any of them, but if you listen carefully, sometimes you will learn one of it's whispered secrets. Unlike tangible discoveries, the whispered secrets are repeated again and again, sometimes heard by many or only one, but always speaking what they have to say until they are sure they have been heard.

One message, often repeated but never understood, is this:
"Fire. Ice. Air. Stone. Earth. Water. Light.... Remember."
